Argynvostholt, Study Room
INT. ARGYNVOSTHOLT – STUDY ROOM – LANTERN LIGHT FLICKERS
The air hums with lingering tension as the party finishes packing the relics away. Felonious remains kneeling, staring down at the silver tablet. His fingertips brush its surface, where ancient Draconic glimmers faintly in the dim glow.
FELONIOUS: (whispering to himself) “The Oath of the Silver Dragon.”
He glances sideways, eyes catching the silk banner in Greegan’s hands—its embroidery faded but unmistakable: the sigil of the Order.
FELONIOUS (CONT’D): (a murmur) “Oh, I’m getting a feeling. And I’m not sure I like it… but I’m not sure I don’t.”
He sets the tablet gently atop the banner, lips pressing into a thoughtful line. His wyrmling chirps once, curling its tail around his neck like a contemplative scarf.
FELONIOUS (CONT’D) : (standing slowly) “Hang on to those things. I’ll need more time, and maybe—if fate is kind—a conversation with Argynvost himself.”
EZMERELDA: “If he’s anywhere, it’s in the fire and oath left behind.”
SILVERLEAF: (softly) “And if he still watches, these might be the keys to waking him.”
GREEGAN: (carefully securing the items) “Well. I’d say we’ve officially picked up a ghost’s unfinished business.”
The party moves with quiet care, handing over the objects to Felonious one by one—scroll, bracelet, stone, tablet, banner. Each item transferred as if carrying memory itself.
CLARION: (firmly, to Felonious) Then let’s find him. And let him speak.
CLOSE-UP — FELONIOUS
He cradles the bundle close. A faint glimmer pulses from the silver tablet, just once.

INT. STAIRWELL – NIGHT APPROACHING
CAMERA FOLLOWS FROM BELOW —
The party climbs the final spiral steps, lanterns flickering, boots scuffing ancient stone. The stairwell is steep and narrow, its air dense with memory.
CLARION: “We’re near the top. I can feel it in the wind.”
FLEETWOOD: “Then let’s meet the sky.”
ANGLE ON DOOR —
A weathered wooden door looms at the top landing. Felonious steps forward and gives the latch a cautious nudge.
SFX — CREAKING WOOD
As the door eases open, grey light floods in, washing the dark interior with a cold glow. Dust motes drift like tiny spirits.
EXT. ARGYNVOSTHOLT ROOFTOP – DUSK
The characters step out onto the roof. Before them: a vast sweep of mountains, veiled in clouded sunset. Shafts of muted gold stretch through gaps in the haze—fleeting light before nightfall.
WIDE SHOT — ROOF AND BEYOND
Silence, then—
THUMP — WHIRL — FLASH
An ethereal arrow, shimmering silver and ghostlight blue, slams into the stone at Felonious’s feet. It pulses once, then fades to translucent mist.
ARABELLE: (startled) “What was that?”
FELONIOUS: (already looking upward) “A message. Or a warning.”
CAMERA WHIP UP TO THE UPPER TOWER WINDOW
A spectral figure—tall, cloaked in ragged armor—stands silhouetted against the glass. Their eyes glint faintly. Then—
WHOOSH
They duck out of view, vanishing into the shadows of the tower.
GREEGAN: “Well. Not subtle.”
EZMERELDA: “Then they wanted us to follow.”
SILVERLEAF: (low and resolute) “Something up there wants us to know it still watches.”
CLARION: “Then we climb higher. Before the sun forgets us.”
ANGLE ON THE SKY
Clouds roil slowly above. The light fades—but the mountaintops, barely visible, gleam like ancient teeth.
FADE TO BLACK.
🎬 Scene Title: “Toward the Light That Waits”
Episode 10, Act IV – Argynvostholt, Beacon Tower
EXT. ARGYNVOSTHOLT ROOFTOP – DUSK
The mountains stretch wide, their peaks bruised in twilight hues, the sun a fading ember behind heavy clouds. Wind stirs the silver banner folded in Clarion’s pack. The arrow’s glimmer has long since faded, but its trail remains etched in thought.
ANGLE ON FLEETWOOD
He stares toward the beacon tower, silhouetted against a grey sky. His cloak flutters with each gust, and for a moment, he looks like a knight already written into legend.
FLEETWOOD: (low, to the others) “This way. If he’s waiting—he won’t wait long.”
SILVERLEAF: “We follow you.”
They move together across stone and shadow, boots thudding against the rooftop’s slick slate. The entrance to the beacon tower looms ahead: its narrow threshold dark, cut into the base of the ruined structure.
INT. BEACON TOWER STAIRWELL – CONTINUOUS
The party enters, one by one. Lanterns cast long, stretching silhouettes along the spiraling stone. The walls bleed cold from centuries of neglect, each step steep and slick.
FLEETWOOD, at the front, ascends with calm urgency, one hand trailing the wall for balance, the other on the hilt at his side.
ARABELLE: (quietly, behind him) “There’s something sacred up here. And watching.”
GREEGAN: “Or judging. But I look good under judgment.”
FELONIOUS: (half-smiling) “Let’s hope that knight finds wit charming.”
INT. BEACON CHAMBER – MOMENTS LATER
They reach the top of the tower. The door stands half ajar, aged metal hinges groaning as Fleetwood pushes it open.
REVEAL — THE BEACON ROOM
Once a sanctuary of light, now a skeletal crown. The remains of the beacon’s brazier sit cracked at the room’s center, rimmed with silver ash. Windows ring the room—most shattered, open to cold air and cloud.
And there—just beyond the stone arch—is the spectral knight, watching the horizon.
Armor once noble, now tarnished and torn. His helm is under one arm; his eyes—flickering with distant flame—turn slowly to meet Fleetwood’s.
SPECTRAL KNIGHT (Mark Rolston): (voice hollow and distant): “You climb toward memory.”
FLEETWOOD: “Or toward reckoning.”
The wind gusts through the tower, dragging silence and frost.
FADE TO BLACK.
🎬 Scene Title: “Trial of the Flamebound”
Episode 10, Act V – Argynvostholt Beacon Tower
INT. BEACON TOWER STAIRWELL – NIGHTFALL
A winding stone stair spirals upward into dark. Moonlight lances through fractured arrow slits, drawing pale blades on the walls. Each step echoes like a memory waking from slumber.
The party ascends in silence. Fleetwood leads.
Then—whispers stir the air. A sound like steel drawn in reverse.
FLEETWOOD slows. The shadows ahead deepen. Mist seeps through the stones.
PHANTOM KNIGHT #1 (voice like frost cracking glass): “What oath binds you?”
Fleetwood meets its hollow gaze. The knight is half-formed—armor fractured, features blurred—but its sword gleams with memory.
FLEETWOOD: “I swore to protect what still dares to hope. And I will not yield.”
The knight bows its head and fades, leaving a scent of embers behind.
Further up, PHANTOM KNIGHT #2 emerges from the wall. Its shield bears the symbol of Argynvost—a silver dragon curled about flame.
PHANTOM KNIGHT #2: “What price have you paid?”
Fleetwood steps forward, unflinching.
FLEETWOOD: “Trust, blood, silence. Enough to understand that honor’s true weight is what you carry when no one’s watching.”
The knight vanishes with the howl of distant wind.
The party watches silently. Even Greegan says nothing.
ARABELLE: (softly) “They recognize a brother knight. Someone who still fights. They’re testing him.”
PHANTOM KNIGHT #3 appears on a landing above, sword not drawn but head bowed.
PHANTOM KNIGHT #3: “What will be left of you?”
Fleetwood’s voice lowers—but does not waver.
FLEETWOOD: “The flame. Or the ash. Either way, I climb.
The knight nods, then dissolves into sparks that dance around his shoulders before guttering into nothing.
INT. BEACON TOWER CHAMBER – MOMENTS LATER
The last stair leads to the final threshold. Fleetwood pushes open the door. The beacon room awaits—and so does its guardian.
And behind him, the silence of his companions is not emptiness—but reverence.
🎬 Scene Title: “The Knight and the Wyrmling”
Episode 10, Act VI — Argynvostholt Beacon Chamber
INT. BEACON CHAMBER – NIGHT
The creak of ancient hinges echoes as the party steps into the highest room of Argynvostholt.
The chamber is still. Air brittle with cold. Moonlight pours through shattered panes in the western wall, bathing the stone floor in silver.
CAMERA SWEEPS TO THE FLOOR NEAR THE STAIRCASE LANDING
A small silver-plated gargoyle, sculpted in the likeness of a dragon wyrmling, crouches like a guardian unborn. Its wings curl protectively inward, claws clutching a tarnished brazier, long cold. Time has worn its luster, but the craftsmanship speaks of reverence, not fear.
CLARION: (whispering) “A relic. Not just decoration.”
ARABELLE: “A prayer, maybe. Waiting to be lit.”
CUT TO THE WESTERN WINDOW
Background Music shifts: Vladimir Horngaard Theme | Unofficial Curse of Strahd Soundtrack | 1h Dark Music | Loop
A knight stands still, draped in rusted plate, etched with old sigils half-eaten by time. His posture is that of someone who has not stirred in centuries, yet his gaze cuts far across the misted lands below—as though watching something that never came home.
By his side rests a greatsword, tall and gleaming, its polish defiant against the decay around it. One iron gauntlet lies upon its hilt. The other dangles loosely at his side, fingers curled but relaxed.
SILENCE FALLS OVER THE SCENE, but the wind rises softly.
FLEETWOOD: (stepping forward, solemn) “You were the last to stand watch.”
The knight turns—not abruptly, but slowly—as though acknowledging a long-delayed reunion. His eyes glow dim with spectral fire.
VLADIMIR HORNGAARD (Rory Kinnear): (quietly) “Many climbed. Few remembered.”
The brazier trembles faintly in the wyrmling’s claws, as if responding to the words. A flicker of old flame dances just beneath the tarnish.
SILVERLEAF: (softly to Fleetwood) “Do you think he still waits for a command? Or for release?”
FLEETWOOD: “We’ll know by the questions he asks.”
CAMERA PANS WIDE — The knight, the wyrmling, and the party, caught between memory and purpose.
🎬 Scene Title: “The Revenant’s Warning”
Argynvostholt Beacon Chamber
INT. BEACON CHAMBER – NIGHT
The party stands frozen. The silver wyrmling gargoyle behind them flickers with ghostlight as the brazier in its claws stirs—dim embers sparking from cold ash.
A horrible rasp like grinding chains echoes through the air.
SFX: SCRAPING METAL — The knight turns.
Moonlight slices across him, revealing a face drained of life, yet burning red eyes pierce from sunken sockets. Skin hangs pale and brittle on skeletal cheekbones. His helm is gone; rusted hair clings to scalp and jaw like dried roots.
VLADIMIR HORNGAARD: (voice deep, ragged, with sorrow-wrought fury) “Neither thieves nor assassins... and yet, you are here.”
His right hand tightens around the hilt of the greatsword, which gleams in stark contrast to his armor—untouched by time, like a vow preserved.
VLADIMIR (CONT’D): “Tell me, then... why the living have come to disturb the dead.”
FLEETWOOD steps forward, steady. The others remain behind—Clarion watching the brazier, Arabelle’s hand on her holy symbol, Greegan twitching with unease.
FLEETWOOD: “We seek the means to destroy the monster—Strahd Von Zarovich. To end his reign of terror.”
A beat. Then—
VLADIMIR’S LAUGHTER erupts. Hollow. Splintered. It fills the chamber like storm wind through bones.
VLADIMIR: “Strahd.” (voice lowering) “The tyrant who slew Argynvost. The butcher of dreams.” (stepping slowly toward the party) “I am Vladimir Horngaard, Commander of the Order of the Silver Dragon. Four centuries ago, I died defending this valley—from him. And failed.”
He stops beside the brazier. The wyrmling’s sculpted eyes almost seem to watch him.
VLADIMIR (CONT’D): “Because of that failure, I am bound to this ruin—forever.”
SILVERLEAF: “You hate him. Yet you won’t help us?”
VLADIMIR’s eyes blaze. His grip never wavers.
VLADIMIR: “Hate? There is no creature I loathe more. But understand this: Strahd must suffer. He sacrificed everything—faith, love, youth—for an empire made of blood. Now? Everything he ever wanted is locked away. Every victory, devoured by mist and memory. He cannot die. He cannot escape. And I will not free him from that torment. The powers that cursed him... are greater than him. Greater than me. Let his eternity burn.”
He turns back to the window, staring into the cursed lands. His sword remains still—but the warning lingers like smoke.
ARABELLE: (quietly) “So you guard this place not to protect it—but to preserve his punishment.”
VLADIMIR: (softly) “Justice is not always a blade.”
FLEETWOOD: “No. But sometimes, it must be.”
The ghostlight flickers again—stronger. The brazier stirs. The wyrmling’s wings twitch in silver tension.
FADE OUT.
🎬 Scene Title: “The Oathbound Gate”
Episode 10, Act VIII — Argynvostholt Beacon Chamber
INT. BEACON CHAMBER – NIGHT
Felonious steps forward, eyes fixed on the worn gargoyle and the tremble of cold flame within its brazier. His voice is low but resolute.
FELONIOUS: “Do you know how we can communicate with the spirit of Lord Argynvost?”
The words coil through the air like smoke curling upward toward the broken dome.
VLADIMIR HORNGAARD turns, slowly.
His gaze darkens with memory.
VLADIMIR: “Did the fool in the chapel set you on this mission?”
His voice carries disdain—but also pain. The mention of Argynvost stirs something brittle beneath the armor.
VLADIMIR (CONT’D): “The old dragon deserves his rest. Not the pawing of mortals digging through ashes. And you—enemies of Strahd Von Zarovich...”
He steps between the party and the exit. His sword gleams bright and still.
VLADIMIR: “I cannot allow you to leave this place unless you swear an oath to me. That you will raise no hand against the Devil of Ravenloft.”
A beat.
VLADIMIR (CONT’D): “Do we have an accord?”
SILENCE.
The wind outside howls through the shattered glass. The brazier pulses faintly in the wyrmling’s claws. Each character is still—as if testing the weight of refusal.
CLARION: “You’re asking us to let him remain unchallenged?”
VLADIMIR: “Not asking. Demanding. That he suffer. That his eternity remain intact. Strike him down, and you grant him escape.”
FLEETWOOD: “Or... release.”
VLADIMIR: “Or absolution. Neither of which he deserves.”
GREEGAN: “So we bend the knee or rot beside you?”
VLADIMIR: “You speak boldly for one so mortal. But know this: The oath binds your fate. Take it, and leave this tower untouched. Refuse—and join the silence of the Silver Watch.”
CAMERA HOLDS on the party.
The flicker of flame reflects in every eye. Choices claw at conscience, legacy, vengeance.
🎬 Scene Title: “A Flame Bent But Not Broken”
Argynvostholt Beacon Chamber
INT. BEACON CHAMBER – NIGHT
The chamber seethes with spectral tension. Wind shrieks through fractured panes. The silver gargoyle beside the stairs trembles faintly, as though sensing the clash of wills.
VLADIMIR HORNGAARD steps forward, his height imposing, rusted armor creaking like grinding stone. His red eyes glow, brilliant and terrible beneath a furrowed brow of ancient fury.
He lifts his sword—not in attack, but in proclamation.
VLADIMIR: (booming, echoing with command) “Kneel to me and swear the oath that you will raise no hand against Strahd von Zarovich. Swear it NOW!”
Fleetwood stands firm, shoulders squared, feet planted against centuries of wrath. The others hold their breath behind him—Clarion gritting her fist around the prayer book, Ezmerelda eyeing the exits, Silverleaf frozen with reverent tension.
FLEETWOOD: (flat, resolute) “No.”
VLADIMIR: “Kneel.”
He steps closer, towering over Fleetwood, the air between them pulsing with cold pressure. A spectral weight descends—a crushing, ancient judgment.
Fleetwood’s knees begin to tremble.
CLOSE-UP – FLEETWOOD’S FACE
His teeth grit. Veins bulge in his temple. Sweat breaks the chill on his brow.
FLEETWOOD: (straining) “I won’t—”
But despite his will, his body fails him.
ANGLE ON THE FLOOR
Fleetwood’s legs buckle. He falls to one knee with a thud against the stone, fists clenched tight, eyes ablaze not with submission—but defiance.
CLARION: (in a whisper) “He’s bending—but he hasn’t bowed.”
VLADIMIR: (voice low, victorious) “Even valor must kneel before legacy.”
FLEETWOOD: (looking up, voice taut) “Then let your legacy see what defiance still looks like.
A long beat. The room hums with spectral force. The fire in the gargoyle’s brazier flickers once, brighter.
FADE TO BLACK.

Suddenly, the silence shatters.
Ezmerelda strikes first, blade flashing with duskfire as she lunges toward VLADIMIR HORNGAARD.
Clarion’s prayer twists into a war-chant, casting radiant chains toward the Revenant.
Silverleaf unleashes a barrage of arcane lashes, each one crackling with sorrow and fury.
Felonious grins grimly, twirling daggers between his fingers, each laced with ghostbane poison.
VLADIMIR counters them all.
His blade meets Ezmerelda’s with a crash that splinters nearby stone.
Clarion’s chains snap.
Silverleaf’s spells ricochet off an unseen ward.
Felonious’s daggers blink out midair—caught in a spectral fist.
VLADIMIR: (laughing, voice like thunder in a tomb) “What makes you think you can challenge me? You will all swear my oath.”
GREEGAN steps forward, still feigning nonchalance, voice sharp as broken glass.
GREEGAN: “I think you’re forgetting one very important thing, Vladdy.”
VLADIMIR: (grinning) “And what is that?”
Suddenly—
FLEETWOOD springs from his knees.
His enchanted sword gleams silver with vengeance, biting deep into the mummified hide of Vladimir. The Revenant flinches—not from pain, but surprise.
VLADIMIR’S blade shatters Fleetwood’s armor in a single, brutal stroke.
But Fleetwood stands unharmed, his armor has done its job after all.
GREEGAN: (smirking) “Him.”
The party roars.
They surge around Fleetwood.
Ezmerelda’s strikes land true.
Clarion’s chants surge into binding magic.
Felonious dances in and out like smoke and steel.
Silverleaf unleashes a storm of psychic blades, each one singing with memory.
VLADIMIR, reeling, falls apart with every blow.
His armor clatters to the ground in molten streaks.
His spectral blade splinters like glass.
His body smokes, fractures, peels away piece by piece.
VLADIMIR: (rasping, voice barely above a whisper) “You have won this battle… but you shall never win forever. You can outrun me, even outfight me… but you cannot outlast me. Sleep—and know that we will meet again.”
He collapses.
As the last breath leaves his dying frame, his features melt away—leaving only a faceless, forgotten Barovian corpse. No armor. No sword. Just smoke and silence.

FLEETWOOD stands alone near the shattered brazier, breath slowing, shoulders heavy with what just transpired. His armor is cracked, sword scorched—but his stance is steady.
FLEETWOOD: (quietly, almost to himself) “Was it worth it? To earn his wrath?”
A beat.
FELONIOUS: (stepping forward, voice dry but reverent) “Look around.”
CAMERA PANS SLOWLY — REVEALING PHANTOM KNIGHTS
Figures materialize from shadow and mist, spectral warriors of the Order of the Silver Dragon. Each one adorned in translucent armor, silver crests gleaming faintly in the cold air.
They form a ring around Fleetwood, eyes hollow yet watchful. Then, in perfect synchronicity—
SALUTE.
Helmets dip. Ghostly blades are raised in tribute. No words—just reverence.
ANGLE ON FLEETWOOD
He looks around slowly, eyes wide, lips parted—not in pride, but disbelief. The silence feels sacred.
FELONIOUS: (low, steady) “They tested you. You passed. And he… didn’t.”
CLARION, arms folded over her prayer book, nods softly.
SILVERLEAF, hand on her bow, bows in kind.

The ring of ghostly knights remains, but one steps forward—taller than the rest, his spectral armor adorned with faded emblems of valor and pain. His voice, though thin as mist, carries the force of command.
GHOSTLY KNIGHT (Keith David) : “Speak the words.”
Fleetwood furrows his brow, glancing toward the others. His confidence falters. The silence stretches like frost over stone.
FLEETWOOD: (stammering) “Words?”
FELONIOUS steps up quietly, drawing from his satchel the small silver tablet, etched in elegant script that seems to shimmer as though reacting to the chamber’s latent energy. The words are now visible in the Common Tongue, where before they were Draconic.
FELONIOUS: (softly, reverently) “This is what it’s for.”
He places the tablet in Fleetwood’s hands.
Fleetwood’s fingers close around it, and the spectral knight nods once.
Fleetwood raises his voice—not loudly, but with gathering strength—as he reads.

“I, Hawk Fleetwood, solemnly vow to uphold the virtues of the Order of the Silver Dragon,
With honor as my shield and truth as my guide.
In the shadow of evil, I shall be the light;
In the face of despair, the beacon of hope.
No challenge shall shake my resolve;
No defeat shall quell my heart.
With sword and spirit,
I shall stand against darkness
And forge a brighter dawn.
So do I swear in the name of the Silver Dragon,
From this until the end of days.”
As the final words are spoken, the ghostly ring glows brighter. One by one, the knights draw their blades and cross them in salute—forming a radiant star of steel and flame above Fleetwood’s head.
The silver wyrmling brazier flares, illuminating Fleetwood with a shimmer that outlines him like the silhouette of a long-forgotten hero from legend.
The knight bows.
GHOSTLY KNIGHT: “Then let your path be forged by fire and fidelity. You are one of us now.”
Episode 10, Act XIV — Awakening the Flame
INT. BEACON CHAMBER — SILVER TWILIGHT
The oath has been spoken. The vow hangs in the air like incense. And then—movement.
The metal wyrmling, once still as sculpture, twitches. One claw curls ever so slightly. Then another. A subtle tremor stirs the chamber, like distant thunder rolling behind the mountains.
ANGLE ON THE WYRMLING’S EYES
A silver ember ignites, tiny yet fierce. Its wings, etched in filigree and age, begin to flex with creaking echoes. Dust falls from their joints as the light within intensifies—piercing and pure.
A low, resonant rumble begins to pulse from the wyrmling’s chest. Not mechanical. Not hollow.
Alive. Ancient. Remembered.
The party steps back, instinctively forming a half-circle. Fleetwood doesn’t move. The tablet now dim, the vow absorbed.
Suddenly, the wyrmling’s mouth opens, gears whirring in harmonious motion, and a hiss begins—soft, serpentine, but tinged with rhythm. Its whisper echoes, carried as if on breathless wind. (Voice: Benedict Cumberbatch)
“When the dragon dreams its dream
Within its rightful tomb,
The light of Argynvost will beam
And rid this land of gloom.”
The room chills. Then warms. A cascade of silver motes falls from the chamber’s heights, swirling like snow in moonlight. The phantom knights kneel.
And then, just for an instant, a spectral silhouette of Argynvost himself rises behind the wyrmling—majesty bound in mourning, a protector reborn.
